Why is the “Head of Overijssel”-area so attractive?

The famous European Nature Reserve “de Weeribben” is on a biking distance of 15-20 minutes from the holiday adress. A area, rich of water, with unique flora and fauna, can be viewed by canoe, whisperboat, tourboat or by walking/biking. Near the town Steenwijk (8 km) you can discover the magnificent country estate “de Eese”: a perfect biking/walking area connected to the woods area “ de Woldberg” of the ancient city Steenwijk.
Giethoorn (10 km) also known as “Dutch Venice” is famous because of “de Wieden” varying area with open water, straw, swamps and hay areas.

A visit is strongly recommended to the woods area “Havelterberg” (on biking distance) with heath and giant´s graves from ancient times. The “Kuinderbos” environment with extended needle- and leaf trees surrounded by large modern farms is approximately 16 km away (in the North East Polder).

In Paasloo ( 5 minutes by bike ) you find a beautiful swimming-bath with a recreation ground for children and a meadow to sun.
